Racoon Creek is the first state scenic river designation for southeastern Ohio

RIO GRANDE, Ohio. (WCHS) – Raccoon Creek, which flows through Vinton, Meigs and Gallia Counties in southeastern Ohio, has become the latest state recognized scenic river. Gov. Mike DeWine has designated 111.9 miles of the waterway as a part of the department of natural resource’s Ohio Scenic River Program with Racoon Creek becoming the 16th waterway in the state and the first in southeastern Ohio to be designated.
