Ohio teen arrested after police pursuit ends in Crawford County crash

( WJET/WFXP )– An Ohio teenager is facing criminal charges after Pennsylvania State Police said he crashed his car in Crawford County while fleeing from Ohio State Police.

According to PSP Meadville, that crash happened on Nov. 9 along Phelps Road in Conneaut Township when 19-year-old William Smith of Andover, OH was fleeing from OSP at a high rate of speed.

Police said Smith was heading south on Phelps Road just south of U.S. Highway 6 when he lost control, crossed into the other side of the road and struck an embankment causing to the car to overturn.

Police said the car suffered disabling damage and suspect Smith suffered minor injuries from the crash before being released to police.

Smith is now facing charges of felony fleeing along with misdemeanor criminal trespassing, evading arrest, flight to avoid, disorderly conduct and accidents involving damage to a vehicle along with other summary charges.
