Ohio lawmakers approve $10 million in drought relief for farmers

Columbus, OHIO (WTRF) – Farmers that were hurt by this year’s historic drought are about to get some help from the statehouse.

On Wednesday, the Ohio Senate concurred on House amendments to Senate Bill 54, which will provide 10 million dollars to the Department of Agriculture for drought mitigation efforts.

Ohio State Representative Don Jones says he appreciates the quick response from lawmakers to help provide Ohio farmers with immediate relief as he move into the winter months.

The bill now heads to the desk of Governor Mike Dewine.
