Winner places 1st in National Corn Growing Contest for State of Ohio

VERSAILLES – Lincoln Winner, a senior at Versailles High School and the son of Brian and Lisa Winner of North Star placed 1st in the State of Ohio in the strip, minimum mulch, ridge-tillage, and non-irrigated category for the National Corn Growers Association yield contest. Lincoln’s contest corn yielded 319.2624 bushels per acre and the variety was Golden Harvest G12S75-D. Lincoln is an active member of the Versailles FFA and his Supervised Agricultural Experience program is job placement on the family farm where in actively assists with all aspects of corn production from planting to harvesting to making management decisions and seed selection. This was Lincoln’s second year in a row as the winner in the National Corn Growers Association corn yield contest.
