DARKE COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – Authorities have confirmed that nearly a million chickens have been infected with highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in Ohio. According to WKEF, the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) confirmed that 931,302 chickens have been infected with bird flu in Darke County, which is located near Dayton, Ohio. The National Veterinary Services Laboratory confirmed on December 27 that HPAI had been detected in the county.
