Another band of snow is coming to the Ohio Valley area in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
The snow is expected to take a break between the hours of 8 am and 11 am, and then another band of snow will hit the area which could add almost another quarter inch.
“Another band of snow” refers to a separate area or line of snowfall within a larger snow event, often associated with lake-effect snow or other weather patterns. Imagine a series of parallel lines of snow falling, rather than a uniform blanket of snow. These bands can be narrow and intense, leading to localized heavier snowfall within the broader snowy area.
Regarding later tonight, the Ohio Valley area is not warming up to where the snow can melt, we will be in the upper 20s. Something to keep in mind, the Ohio Valley will see wind speeds in the teens, which will bring blowing snow. The friction from the wind will melt the snow and will melt enough to where it turns into a liquid on the roadway and it freezes into black ice.
