Joann Stores braces for large-scale layoffs

Hudson, Ohio – While Joann Stores seeks a buyer through the bankruptcy process, it has informed Ohio officials that major layoffs could begin this spring. The specialty retailer issued WARN notices with the state this week, explaining that it could be forced to close its fulfillment center in Hudson and its distribution center in West Jefferson if the company fails to find a buyer. The shutdowns would eliminate more than 470 jobs and would begin March 31. It has also warned that more than 660 jobs at its corporate headquarters are at risk if it fails to find a buyer…
