After learning that the principal of an elementary school in Oklahoma had a past as a drag queen, he resigned.
Dr. Shane Murnane is no longer the principal of John Glenn Elementary School as of Friday. Murnane, also known as “Chantel Mandale,” was a male performer. Before taking on the job in June 2023, while still involved in drag, Murnane reportedly used to tell stories to young children.
Oklahoma Superintendent Ryan Walters, inspired by a post from the Lips of TikTok, embarked on a quest to discover the next personality on the platform. Walters celebrated Murnan’s resignation, which came after weeks of being on administrative leave.
