If you grew up in Oklahoma, odds are you’re at least somewhat familiar with a ton of general sayings you’ve heard the oldest Sooners say. While we collectively understand these phrases, we’re less sure how they actually came to be. Some of them are as surprising as the common phrases that were actually somewhat racist in the days of the Greatest and Silent generations.
