At least 6 injured following overnight tornadoes across Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA — Tornadoes caused severe damage and injured at least six people in the Oklahoma City area overnight.

FOX23’s news partner KOCO reported as many as seven tornadoes were confirmed in Oklahoma Sunday morning.

The three largest tornadoes caused damage in Newcastle, southeast Oklahoma City, Harrah and Choctaw.

KOCO reported several homes in OKC were damaged along with downed power lines and traffic lights.

KOCO reported six people were transported to local hospital, five of which were in the same area and one in a separate location.

No fatalities have been reported.

The gymnasium at Choctaw Elementary has opened for anyone needing temporary shelter. The city of Harrah has relocated people to the Grand Casino for shelter, KOCO reports.
