ADAIR COUNTY, OK. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Tulsa National Weather Service surveyed the storm damage across eastern Oklahoma from Nov. 4 and confirmed at least four tornadoes.
Two of the tornadoes were in the weather coverage area, with one tornado being a long-track tornado that crossed four counties.
What is a tornado and what should I do if one strikes?
The Tenkiller tornado was on the ground for 32.8 miles starting just north of Cookson, Oklahoma in Cherokee County. The tornado stayed on the ground through Adair County, clipped northwest Washington County and finally lifted just south of Siloam Springs in Benton County.
The EF2 tornado with 110-120 mph peak winds was 1,200 yards wide at its widest point.
A second tornado rated EF1 tornado with 100 to 105 mph peak winds touched down just north of Hwy 16 south of Siloam Springs crossing Hwy 412 and lifting at Gallitin. This tornado was rain-wrapped and had a max with of 550 yards.
The Rogers/Little Flock tornado hasn’t been surveyed yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as that information becomes available.
