Heavy Snow Developing Acorss Parts of Western Oklahoma & Northwest Texas
11/07/24 11:05am EST
Good morning everyone. We have some good news on the way in the form of some much-needed rain Sunday night after dry conditions today through Saturday. While it won’t solve the drought problems, perhaps it will at least lower the fire risk for the time being. Meanwhile, we have another mild day today in the mid to upper 70’s, then we sink back to the upper 60’s tomorrow. Much cooler air heads in by Saturday for highs in the mid to upper 50’s.
Our storm system that’ll bring rain to the Northeast Sunday, is causing some havoc out in the Southwest & Midwest. Powerful low pressure is exiting the Rockies with a wide range of weather conditions due to the sharp contrast between very cold air and warmer/more humid air. In parts of Colorado, New Mexico, western Oklahoma, and extreme northwest Texas, heavy snows are falling. Winter storm watches are up, and we are expecting 5-12″ of snow depending on your location.
