Yvonne Kauger on Nov. 5 became the first Oklahoma Supreme Court justice ever to lose a judicial retention election. The “no” vote on Kauger was 723,329 votes statewide, or 50.24%. The “yes” vote for her was 716,283 votes, or 49.76%. Kauger, who is 87 years old, was appointed to the court in 1984 by Gov. George Nigh.
