‘No question when it comes to food security for children’ – Tribe fills Summer EBT gap in 2024, looks to 2025

TAHLEQUAH – After the state of Oklahoma failed to opt-in for the United States Department of Agriculture’s Summer EBT program – also known as the Sun Bucks program – in 2024, the Cherokee Nation stepped up to help qualifying students within the Cherokee Nation Reservation and parts of the Muscogee Nation Reservation receive $120 of food benefits per student during the summer months.
