PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – The ice storm that swept through western Oregon earlier this month led to countless losses including lost power, lost trees and even lost lives.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office says at least 15 deaths were caused by potential hypothermia or other weather-related emergencies between Jan. 12 and Jan. 19.

Multnomah County reported the most deaths with eight in total. Of these, four are suspected cases of hypothermia. Washington, Wasco, Lane, Deschutes, Clackamas, and Marion counties each recorded one suspected hypothermia death.
