Democratic members of Oregon’s congressional delegation announced Tuesday, Jan. 30, that the state will receive almost $60.3 million in federal investments to support 140 homelessness prevention and support initiatives in communities across the state.
The funds comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Continuum of Care program.
The funds will be distributed to a wide array of programs:
$2.35 million for 10 new initiatives in Clackamas, Lane, Marion and Multnomah counties.$50.92 million 111 renewal initiatives throughout the state.$4.39 million for 11 Youth Homeless Demonstration Program renewal initiatives: The goal of the program is to support initiatives to prevent and end homelessness for youths. The program is intended to serve people age 24 and younger experiencing homelessness, including unaccompanied youth and pregnant or parenting youth who are experiencing homelessness.$2.64 million for eight planning initiatives in Clackamas, Deschutes, Lane, Marion, Multnomah and Washington counties.
