This is not a drill. Mt. Bachelor, Oregon has reported their first snowfall of the season today, August 23, 2024. The resort has received just a “dusting”, but more snow is expected today and tonight as temperatures remain unseasonably cold.

Mt. Bachelor is typically open for summer activities in August including mountain biking, hiking, and sight-seeing lift rides. As of 12:00PM PT, the Little Pine lift is running with the Pine Marten lift on hold due to “mid-mountain snow”.
The resort is slated to host its final Downhill mountain bike race of the season this evening, and some competitors have taken to the comments to inquire on the status considering the current conditions. Mt. Bachelor has confirmed that the race is still on as of now, but they will keep racers updated in their Instagram Stories feed.
