CHP seizes $1.3M in cocaine during traffic stop

(FOX40.COM) — California Highway Patrol officers recently arrested two people after they discovered $1.3 million worth of cocaine during a traffic stop.

CHP said a vehicle was pulled over on 1-5 in Merced County for a traffic violation. During the stop, police said they discovered 37 pounds of cocaine which is valued at over $1 million. Two Oregon men, ages 24 and 20, were arrested.

Both suspects face multiple felony charges, including possession and transportation of cocaine for sale, and conspiracy to distribute, according to CHP. The case was handed over to the Merced Area Gang Narcotics Enforcement Team.
