Registering to vote, or actually voting, can disqualify non-citizens from ever becoming citizens of the United States. That’s why the Oregon Driver & Motor Vehicles division’s automatic registration has been a nightmare for many years for my citizenship students who speak limited English, (“Oregon DMV registered more than 300 non-citizens to vote,” Sept. 13).
