Weekend Weather Overview
1. Mountain Snow Incoming
Get ready for some serious mountain snow! Starting Saturday morning, the WA Cascades and Blue Mountains will be under a Winter Storm Warning through Monday night. Expect 10-20 inches of snow in the Cascades and high parts of the Blues over 4,000 feet. Oregon’s Cascades will also see heavy snow Sunday into Monday, with a Winter Storm Watch in effect.
Here’s how it unfolds:
- A cold front brings snow Saturday morning.
- A warm front follows, briefly turning snow to rain in spots.
- Then, another cold front arrives late Saturday night, switching it back to snow.
Plan accordingly if you’re traveling; snow levels will shift from below 2,000 feet to 8,000 feet, then back down again!
2. Breezy Conditions
As that second cold front pushes through, breezy winds will make a return Saturday evening, with gusts over 30 mph in areas like the Cascade Gaps, Columbia Basin, and Blue Mountain foothills. Winds will stick around into Monday.
