PORTLAND, OR — After a brief dry spell, the Pacific Northwest is bracing for more rain and mountain snow starting this evening. A front will push inland tonight, bringing rain to the coast and spreading showers through Oregon and Washington by Wednesday. Snowfall is expected in the Cascades, with 3 to 9 inches possible at higher elevations, including Government Camp and Santiam Pass. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Cascades through Wednesday afternoon. Another front is set to arrive Thursday night, bringing rain, mountain snow, and gusty winds to the region. However, the overall forecast for next week looks mild and mostly dry.
