Oregon Department of Corrections fires 2 top health care leaders following investigation

Oregon Department of Corrections leaders fired two top officials Monday, a move they said was part of reform efforts to address longstanding issues in the prison medical system. Prison officials fired Health Services Assistant Director Joe Bugher and Chief of Medicine Dr. Warren Roberts. They said they would begin a comprehensive review of the health care delivery system for the nearly 12,000 adults in custody at Oregon’s correctional facilities.
