Woman breaks into home, confronts owner

Marion Township, Pa. — A woman used a metal pole to force her way into an apartment, police said.

Nicole Jeanette Binns, 49, caused $1,000 in damages on Jan. 22 when she entered an apartment in the 2000 block of Jacksonville Road, Trooper Spencer Luciano said. Binns called police to report an injury to her leg sustained from breaking into the home, Luciano added.

Binns blamed her neighbors for her sick cats, according to the complaint. She allegedly went to the home with the intent to break into it.

Binns allegedly told Luciano she wanted to enter the victim’s home to “break their things.” She acknowledged the homeowner did not give her permission to enter the home, according to Luciano.

The victim was allegedly sleeping when Binns entered the apartment. She awoke to her dogs barking and went into the living room, according to the affidavit. Confronted by Binns, the victim told her to leave while pushing her out of the apartment, police said.

Binns is being charged with first-degree felony burglary, criminal trespassing, criminal mischief, and harassment. She is free on $52,500 unsecured bail.
