Pennsylvania Senators Carolyn T. Comitta (D-Chester) and John I. Kane (D-Chester/Delaware) have proposed legislation that, if passed, would launch the Imagination Library program throughout the state.

Imagination Library is a book-giving program that mails high-quality, age-apropriate books to all registered children, from birth to age 5, at no cost to the family. Currently the program has statewide coverage in 18 states as well as international reach and distributes more than two million books per month to children around the world.

Currently in Pennsylvania, there are 54 Imagination Library programs across 44 counties. But many counties in the state do not have any programs, including Huntingdon, Blair, Centre, Clearfield, Elk and Jefferson Counties.
