Delayed Flight Leads to $5 Million Win for Pennsylvania Woman

Pennsylvania Cancer Survivor Wins $5 Million Lottery Prize

Donna Osborne, a resident of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, found her life transformed by a combination of luck and timing. A delayed flight led to a chance purchase that made her $5 million richer.

Last month, Osborne shared her incredible story with lottery officials, highlighting the bittersweet nature of her win. “I was at the airport with my daughter, waiting to fly to Florida to see family, when our flight got delayed multiple times,” Osborne recounted. “Eventually, I decided to go home, leaving my daughter to catch the flight.”

It was this decision that led Osborne to a local Speedway gas station, where she bought a MONOPOLY Own It All scratch-off ticket. After scratching the ticket in the parking lot, Osborne was stunned to see the $5 million prize. “I could not believe my eyes!” she exclaimed. “I went back into the store and asked the clerk to check it, and he confirmed it was real.”

Osborne’s windfall comes after a challenging period, having just completed radiation treatment for breast cancer. This juxtaposition of events made her victory especially poignant.
