Seven charged in Superior Court with crimes related to Medicaid fraud of more than $1 million

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Attorney General Peter Neronha has announced that seven individuals have been charged in Superior Court for alleged crimes related to Medicaid fraud totaling more than $1 million following investigations by the Office of the Attorney General.

“This Office remains steadfastly committed to holding accountable those who steal public funds and put the health of Rhode Islanders at risk,” said Attorney General Neronha. “Medicaid fraud is far from a victimless crime – it undermines our already strained health care system by diverting away taxpayer dollars which are intended to provide essential health care services to our state’s most vulnerable residents. I thank the members of our Medicaid Fraud Control Unit for their outstanding work on these cases and their continued efforts to protect public resources while safeguarding access to critical health care services.”
