An equitable Ocean State: URI professor looking at ways to improve coastal fishing access and information in R.I.

KINGSTON, R.I. – Jan. 24, 2024 – During these chilly winter months, many Rhode Islanders are thinking ahead to summer. Melva Treviño Peña is, too, but perhaps not in the way you might think. The assistant professor at the University of Rhode Island is making plans for summer to examine how fishing in Rhode Island is more than a matter of recreation.
