Report: 7,000 students have left Rhode Island public schools since 2019

(WJAR) – A report by the Rhode Island Expenditure Council found that there are more empty seats in public school classrooms across the state, as enrollment numbers drop and chronic absenteeism rises. The report found public school enrollment has dropped by more than 5.2%, or 7,000 students, since 2019.
