PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Pet Network and BUPPY PETS recently teamed up to host a speed dating adoption event called “Woof You Be Mine.”
This annual event is put on in hopes of finding the pets from Save One Soul Animal Rescue League (SOSARL) a home.
“We are thrilled to see that Woof You Be Mine — now in its 6th year — has become an annual Valentine’s tradition for some, while also continuing to attract new attendees,” said Jordan Bouclin, executive director of Rhode Island Pet Network.
The event raised just over $1,500 for SOSARL and two dogs were adopted right from the event. Bouclin said that there are also several adoptions pending.
The money raised this year will help the Rhode Island Pet Network provide financial assistance for emergency veterinary bills to local rescues or pet owners experiencing hardships.
Attendees of the event were able to enjoy live music while shopping from local vendors at The Guild Pawtucket: Beer Barn.
