PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — R.I. General Treasurer James Diossa unveiled an updated domain on Wednesday for a website that helps people find their unclaimed property.
The new website address, FindRIMoney.gov , replaces FindRIMoney.com.
“The transition to a .gov domain further assures Rhode Islanders recovering unclaimed property can trust the website is official and secure,” Diossa explained in a press release, thanking his team for their hard work on the website transition.
Anyone who visits the old website will be brought to the new domain.
So far this fiscal year, Diossa’s office said its Unclaimed Property Program has “returned close to $17 million to over 19,000 Rhode Islanders.”
Aside from the website, the state’s Unclaimed Property Division can also be reached by phone at 401-462-7676.
