WATCH: RIDOT demolishes, replaces Route 37 bridge

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) recently shared a timelapse video on social media that showed crews taking down a bridge on Route 37 and sliding the new one into place.

The construction took place over a single weekend in mid-August, according to RIDOT’s post. It is part of the state’s $85 million “Cranston Canyon” improvement initiative , which is set to wrap up in 2026.
