Sean Daly inducted into RI Radio and TV Hall of Fame

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Former WPRI reporter Sean Daly was inducted into the Rhode Island Radio and Television Hall of Fame on Wednesday night.

“I’m touched by this honor, being recognized for having made some sort of an impact,” Daly said during the induction ceremony. “It’s the old line, ‘It’s easy to make a buck, the hard part is making a difference.’”

Daly worked for more than 40 years in television news, retiring back in 2014.

“TV news in little Rhody, the gift that keeps on giving,” Daly said with a smile. “Whatever else it may have been, my work world rarely was dull.”

WPRO’s Dan Yorke, who hosts Dan Yorke State of Mind on FOX Providence, is also among this year’s inductees.

Daly and Yorke will be inducted alongside WBLQ’s Betty Jo Cugini-Greene and the late Chris DiPaola. Paul Zangari and Joe Hassett were also inducted.
