Taste of Thayer, Halloween events and more. Food fun across RI in October

The food scene in Rhode Island vibrates with excitement this month and there are several events to get you started this week and weekend. But for those who want to make long-term plans, there’s more to look forward to.

The fourth Taste of Thayer is Wednesday, Oct. 9 with some 20 restaurants sharing samples. Picnic tables will be placed on Thayer Street between Bowen to Angell streets, which will be closed to traffic. There will be live music and free, family activities. Tickets can be purchased day of the event.

Providence’s ISCO, the Industrious Spirit Company , is hosting a big party on Thursday, Oct. 10 to celebrate the release of their first-ever, four-year, single-origin, regeneratively-farmed organic corn bourbon.

Pivotal Brewing Company in Bristol has a lot going on for the annual Fall Fest on Saturday, Oct. 12. Think chili and tap takeovers.

A restaurant in Portsmouth is going to the dogs, in the best sort of way, at the end of the month. Plus, there are Halloween happenings and a wine dinner planned as well as a French-inspired night.
