RI’s ballots have lots of questions. Here’s what they mean

Good morning, I’m Will Richmond at The Providence Journal and this is the Daily Briefing.

You’ve probably heard about the five statewide ballot questions voters will determine in November. Between stories from the media, pleas made by mail and commercials they’re hard to ignore.

But at the local level, there are also questions that need an answer.

Some are for money to build police stations or schools, others could change the way a town council looks, and in one case there’s even an effort to protect shoreline access in one town.

How does one keep this all straight when a trip across your town’s borders potentially means you’re seeing multiple signs for or against the sixth question to appear on a ballot or in some communities even more?
