On January 9, 2024, four men were traveling I-12 in a brown Hyundai Santa Fe. They took the Albany exit and stopped at a residence on Louisiana Highway 43. Sheriff Jason Ard says, “Investigators learned one suspect knocked on a 91-year-old’s door. The suspect acted as if he knew the victim and was allowed inside. A second suspect then entered with a roll of vinyl flooring. One distracted the female while trying to sell her flooring while the other entered the victim’s bedroom. The suspects stole jewelry. The other two suspects waited in the vehicle.”
