Amelia Earhart’s Lost Plane May Have Been Found at the Bottom of the Pacific by South Carolina Man’s Sonar

The iconic American aviator went missing in 1937 and people have been searching for her plane ever since

Many know the story of Amelia Earhart, the pioneer aviator who was the first female to fly solo over the Atlantic Ocean and who mysteriously went missing while trying to be the first woman to fly around the world in 1937. Now, it’s believed that her missing plane may have been found.

For nearly 90 years, the world has searched for the missing aviation icon and theorized where she and her plane ended up. A new ocean exploration company based out of South Carolina is now claiming it has discovered an object of similar shape and size to Earhart’s aircraft located deep in the waters of the Pacific Ocean.

“We think it could be her plane,” Deep Sea Vision’s founder Tony Romeo told Charleston’s newspaper The Post and Courier. Romeo did add that it’s possible the discovered shape could be anything, even rocks, but he remains intrigued if not entirely confident in the potential find.
