Several parts of South Carolina could be underwater by the year 2100 if climate change leads to a temperature increase of 4.9°, according to this frightening map produced by Climate Central . Coastal areas are most prone to ending up underwater if the sea levels, accelerated by climate change, continue to rise.
Other, coastal parts of the United States are similarly predicted to experience climate change-driven issues. As the map shows, many parts of New York and Los Angeles , for example, would be under in just over 75 years, if the same trends continued.
Meanwhile, neighboring North Carolina could also see swathes of its coastal areas underwater by 2100, should temperatures increase by 4.9° by 2100. Other coastal states, such as Florida , are also predicted to be badly impacted, should the trend of rising temperatures continue.
