Southern states rank low in education

A recent WalletHub study found that the southeast ranked low in education.

The study focused on factors such as the quality of schools and the highest level of education the average person has.

The study found that many northern states such as Massachusetts, Maryland, Connecticut and New Jersey ranked amongst the top 10.

However, southeastern states ranked very low, with Mississippi ranked 49th, Arkansas at 47th, Alabama at 45th and South Carolina at 38th.

Georgia and North Carolina ranked more favorably, closer to the middle of the pack at 30th and 22nd respectively.

Similar studies, such as WalletHub’s best school systems study from last summer, regularly place southeastern states in similarly low standings.
