Flood Watches & Warnings Posted For Slow Moving Thunderstorms

Good afternoon everyone. While we continue to watch heavy showers & thunderstorms off of the North & South Carolina coast for possible tropical development over the next 48hrs, we can’t take our eye off of the ball elsewhere.
Heavy thunderstorms have reemerged over parts of Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida. This is all connected to our tropical remnants still meandering around the region. As far as the highest concentration of precipitation, parts of Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia are the winners; with more of a scattered heavy action over Florida.
Numerous showers and heavy thunderstorms mark a wide swath from northwest to southeast across the areas mentioned. Torrential rain has set off flood watches and warnings throughout the region due to their slow movement and constant presence over the same areas. Simply put, the ground cannot absorb anymore water.
As for Florida, scattered popcorn-variety storms dot areas from south Florida, both coasts, central Florida, and north Florida; while the panhandle is somewhat quiet. While we do not have any severe weather at this time, we could see some locally strong to severe storms. The biggest risk would be strong winds, frequent lightning, small hail, and the chance of a few isolated waterspouts over maritime areas.
