SC Emergency Management Division advises against calling 911 for non-emergencies

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The South Carolina Emergency Management Division (SCEMD) is advising people not to call 911 during Helene unless it’s an emergency. “Do not call 911 to [report] storm damage to ur property or report power outages,” a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, said. “911 operators can’t do anything about it & will be pretty busy trying to get help to people in danger.”
