GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – The Red Cross is asking for volunteers to help with assessing the damage Helene left to homes across the upstate and western South Carolina.
Red Cross reps are asking for volunteers to commit to an hour of red cross training, then go into neighborhoods to take pictures of damaged homes. Representatives said the volunteers will submit the pictures and the location they were taken to the Red Cross Mobile App.
Volunteers are asked to work for six to eight hours, but the organization said they are grateful to anyone who can spare a couple hours to get the job done.
The organization told 7NEWS it was deeply impacted after Helene caused them to lose out on nearly 2,000 blood donations.
