Nancy Mace wins South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District election

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Nancy Mace has been reelected to represent South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The district spans much of coastal South Carolina and the Lowcountry and includes Charleston, Beaufort and Hilton Head Island.

Republican Mace faced off against Democrat Michael B. Moore.

Mace was first elected in 2020. At the time, she flipped the seat from Democratic to Republican hands.

RESULTS: 2024 general election

Mace has campaigned on being pro-life but seeks “common ground” on the subject of reproductive rights after the 2022 Dobbs decision. She also has criticized the Biden-Harris administration for vaccine and mask mandates, the War in Ukraine, the U.S.-Mexico border and violent crime.

Moore served as CEO of Glory Foods and the International African American Museum.

He has campaigned on expanding health care access, combating climate change and supporting Lowcountry families and the Gullah Geechee community.
