South Carolina tween threatened to ‘shoot up the school’ if Mike Tyson lost fight, authorities say

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. ( WBTW ) — A 12-year-old student in South Carolina is facing charges after threatening over Snapchat to “shoot up the school ” if Mike Tyson lost his heavyweight fight against Jake Paul , authorities said on Saturday.

Sheriff Carter Weaver said the Georgetown Middle School student told investigators she was joking, and no firearms were found during the search of a home.

The first Applebee’s restaurant had a wildly different name

Officials said the student will be charged with making school threats and is also subject to district disciplinary policy.

The Friday night fight between Tyson, 58, and Paul, 27, was a major streaming event, and was broadcast live from Arlington, Texas on Netflix. But the main event likely drew fewer eyes than anticipated after thousands of users reported outages just as Tyson and Paul prepared to fight.

According to Downdetector , which tracks outages in real-time, at least 98,000 people reported Netflix outages on Friday night.
