FEMA application deadline approaches for disaster assistance

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The deadline to apply for federal assistance is quickly approaching for South Carolina and Georgia residents affected by Hurricane Helene.

Residents only have two more weeks to apply for disaster assistance through FEMA. The deadline is Jan. 7, 2025.

Homeowners and renters in these South Carolina counties can apply for assistance: Abbeville, Aiken, Allendale, Anderson, Bamberg, Barnwell, Beaufort , Cherokee, Chester, Edgefield, Fairfield, Greenville, Greenwood, Hampton, Jasper , Kershaw, Laurens, Lexington, McCormick, Newberry, Oconee, Orangeburg, Pickens, Richland, Saluda, Spartanburg, Union and Yorke.

Homeowners and renters in these Georgia counties can apply for assistance: Appling , Atkinson, Bacon , Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Bulloch, Burke, Candler, Chatham , Clinch, Coffee , Colquitt, Columbia, Cook, Echols, Emanuel, Evans , Glascock, Irwin, Jeff Davis , Jefferson, Jenkins , Johnson, Lanier, Laurens, Liberty, Lincoln, Lowndes, McDuffie, Montgomery, Pierce, Richmond, Screven , Tattnall , Telfair, Toombs , Treutlen, Ware, Washington and Wheeler.
