RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Sturgis has selected a new finance officer, with the City Council approving Mayor Rod Bradley’s appointment of Dawn Christenson during Monday night’s meeting.
Christenson brings more than 20 years of accounting and local government experience to the position. She currently serves as Meade County auditor, a role she has held since November 2025.
Before becoming auditor, Christenson worked as a deputy auditor and chief deputy auditor, with responsibilities including budgeting, financial reporting, property taxes and elections.
