The project will capture CO2 from POET’s 12 facilities in Iowa and five facilities in South Dakota into the Summit project.

Summit will be re-applying for a permit from the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) to install more than 400 miles of CO2 pipeline in the state. The PUC rejected a permit application in September of 2023.

The proposed CO2 project will be about 2,000 miles across five states with burial of CO2 in North Dakota.
