South Dakota part of clean energy plan

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – South Dakota is one of five states that will be part of an upcoming clean energy plan for the upper Midwest. According to Xcel Energy, plans will reduce carbon emissions by 80 percent by retiring all coal plants by 2030. The company will continue to use their two carbon-free nuclear plants while adding more wind and solar energy to their existing systems.
