RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – An active day of weather can be expected as an upper level trough, a dry line and cold front interact with a hot, moist and unstable airmass. There is an Enhanced Risk of severe thunderstorms today. Any storm that forms may contain large hail and damaging straight-line winds. Isolated tornadoes are possible in northwest through west-central South Dakota. Not everyone will experience severe weather today, but it is a threat.
