PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) – The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is suing the biggest names in Social Media. The Tribe says social media is adding to the mental health crisis and suicide rate among youth on its reservation. At the same time, a South Dakota legislative committee is working on measures to protect minors online, by requiring age verification when people are downloading cellphone apps. That concept has the support of Nicole Lopez of META, who says her company is already doing that.
