SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — While the day got off to a sunny start, cloud cover has been building into the region right on schedule. This has been the only real blemish to an otherwise very nice day to be out and about in KELOLAND.
A dry cold front will make its move on Monday and pass through the region. While we don’t have any moisture in the forecast (yet), we do have some change on the way. Cooler air begins to filter into western South Dakota, while the east holds onto the warmth for one more day.
It’s Tuesday where things begin to unravel. Rain builds into our West River communities first and slowly spreads eastward through the day. The best chance for rain overall is overnight into Wednesday before this system lifts out of KELOLAND.
On top of rain, we’ll have to dust off another graphic: Winter weather headlines. A winter storm watch is in effect for the Black Hills into Wednesday morning due to the potential to see wet, heavy snow. Please keep an eye out for updates on this first taste of winter.
